Our take
Written Aug 3, 2026Gemini 3 Flash Preview is a hosted-only multimodal model from Google that accepts text, images, files, audio and video in a single request of up to one million tokens. It launched in late 2025 with six pricing tiers but no published quality scores yet.
Choose this when you need genuine long-context multimodal work — one million tokens with text, images, files, audio and video together — and you are comfortable using Google's own hosting. It is the cheapest option at the entry tier, though the same provider charges much more for a slower tier of the identical model. Skip it if you need verified quality data to judge performance, or if you want to run the model on your own hardware.
The case for it
- One of the largest disclosed request limits in the catalogue, at 1,048,576 tokens.
- Broadest multimodal input support we track: text, images, files, audio and video simultaneously.
- The cheapest tier costs several times less than the most expensive tier for the same model.
The case against it
- No benchmark scores in the catalogue, so performance is unverified.
- Throughput varies more than fivefold across tiers: 94 tokens per second at the cheapest tier versus 17.5 at the most expensive on the same provider.
- The same provider charges several times more for slower throughput on an identical model.
How good is it?
We hold no score for this model.
We look for every model we track on every board we watch, and none of them has turned up Gemini 3 Flash Preview — so there is no intelligence, coding, agentic or writing score to show you, not a low one, none.
Or rent it from someone else
Why this differs from the header. The strip above quotes Google AI's own list price. This is the cheapest live offer at the widest standard context we hold, whoever is serving it — a reseller undercutting a lab is ordinary commerce, not an error.
