Our take
Written Aug 2, 2026Claude Opus 4.7 (Fast) is Anthropic's premium hosted model that can handle up to one million tokens in a single request, accepting text, images and files. It is available only through two identically priced providers with no open-weight or budget alternative.
Pick this when you need Anthropic's largest request limit and proprietary hosting is acceptable. Use it for long-document analysis or multimodal workflows where that one-million-token capacity matters more than cost. Skip it if you need measured quality scores to justify spending, if you want to self-host, or if you are price-sensitive and can work within a smaller context window.
The case for it
- One-million-token request limit — ten times the hundred-thousand-token standard common among frontier models.
- Multimodal input: accepts text, images and files alongside its extreme context capacity.
The case against it
- Very expensive output pricing with no cheaper alternative; both providers charge the same rate with no budget tier or volume discount in our data.
- No measured quality scores to justify premium pricing; zero benchmark scores in our data — no chat leaderboard rating, no reasoning or coding scores published.
- No throughput data for latency-sensitive workloads; tokens per second not measured on either provider.
How good is it?
We hold no score for this model.
We look for every model we track on every board we watch, and none of them has turned up Claude Opus 4.7 (Fast) — so there is no intelligence, coding, agentic or writing score to show you, not a low one, none.
Or rent it from someone else
Why this differs from the header. The strip above quotes Anthropic's own list price. This is the cheapest live offer at the widest standard context we hold, whoever is serving it — a reseller undercutting a lab is ordinary commerce, not an error.
