Our take
Written Aug 3, 2026Claude Opus 5 (Fast) is Anthropic's premium hosted model for deep document analysis and complex multimodal tasks, with a one-million-token request limit that exceeds most frontier alternatives. It accepts text, images and files, but carries a steep per-token cost and no measured quality data in our records.
Pick this when you need to analyse documents or codebases near one million tokens in a single request, or when your multimodal workflow requires Anthropic's proprietary stack with a known throughput guarantee. Skip it if budget is constrained, if you need verified quality scores to justify the cost, or if a 256-thousand-token limit from a cheaper frontier model suffices.
The case for it
- One-million-token request limit — four times the 256-thousand-token ceiling common among frontier models, and 3.8 times that of Gemma 4B A4B.
- Accepts images and files alongside text for multimodal reasoning.
- Anthropic-hosted throughput is measured at 98.5 tokens per second.
The case against it
- Very high per-token cost with no measured quality advantage in our data.
- Zero benchmark scores held — no Elo, no MMLU, no coding or reasoning scores published, so there is no independent quality verification.
- Only two tracked offers, both at the same price tier, so no price competition between hosts.
How good is it?
We hold no score for this model.
We look for every model we track on every board we watch, and none of them has turned up Claude Opus 5 (Fast) — so there is no intelligence, coding, agentic or writing score to show you, not a low one, none.
Or rent it from someone else
Why this differs from the header. The strip above quotes Anthropic's own list price. This is the cheapest live offer at the widest standard context we hold, whoever is serving it — a reseller undercutting a lab is ordinary commerce, not an error.

What each host's API supports
From the parameter list each endpoint publishes. Streaming is omitted: nothing we hold reports it, for any model.

What we do not know about this model yet
- No board we watch has turned up a score, so we hold no quality figures at all.
- Nothing we hold says whether an endpoint streams, so we do not show it either way.
- 1 of 2 listings do not say whether they train on prompts.
